Environmental Education Workshop at Sullivan MSLC

Angela Murphy of Hoosier Energy’s Turtle Creek Educational Center teaches how to recycle and reuse to help preserve the environment. She recently visited the Assisted Living residents in Sullivan to teach them how to make solar lights using re-purposed jars.

The residents chose stickers to decorate their lights. Then they had the option to use a paint that dried translucent.

Angela provided the solar lights as toppers for the jars. The lights can be used in the residents’ rooms.

Pictured below are: (left)Residents Dorothy Morgan, Marjorie Miller, Glenn Benson, Paul Edmiston, and Patty Wheeler-Crum liston as Angela provides instructions on the next step of the lights; (right) Resident Jo Ann Jewell puts the finishing touches on her painted light.
