Christmas Greeting from the CEO, Patrick Boyle

It’s almost Christmas, and in a few short days it will be time to close out another year.  During this season, I can’t help but look back and reflect on the past year.  As always, I’m thankful for my family and my health.  I’m grateful for my job and for our employee-owned company.  I’m thankful to have the honor of working with nearly 3,300 employees and fellow-owners.  I’m grateful for our residents and their families, and for the communities that they represent. I’m thankful for the physicians, hospitals and our new Home Health Company who assist us in caring for the residents we serve. I’m thankful for this great country, the men and women of our military, and for all who work hard every day to make a difference.

The word “change” was huge for all of us in 2011. Daily, the news seems to bring more conversation about what will happen next as legislators try to update our country’s healthcare system.  As we look forward to the upcoming year, it is certain that we will need to lean on our Core Values as much as we ever have.  I find assurance in the fact that even if so much else seems to be changing, these items must never change:  Passion, Integrity, Growth, Stewardship and Adaptability.  These core values have to be non-negotiable and I believe we’ll be able to successfully navigate the changes that come our way in 2012.

Thank you for a great 2011.  May you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and let’s work together to make 2012 a Happy New Year!
